Sometimes when people say Sleeping Beauty is their least favorite Disney movie I actually get a little offended??

“But…but….every frame is like a flawless illuminated manuscript technicolor wonderland WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU

YESSSS. Someone who understands. And the scene where they are dancing to Tchaikovsky’s Sleeping Beauty waltz and you see their reflections in the lake…HEARTS OF STONE, PPL.

Besides, Maleficent is the best Disney villain hands down, I assumed this was common knowledge. Snarky and fierce and deliciously evil and turns into a dragon…doesn’t get better than that.

While this is very fun, that’s the best Aurora quote they could find? Really? Between this and the Maleficent in “Once Upon a Time” being weak and, well, blonde, I am starting to think that Sleeping Beauty gets no respect. NO RESPECT. ;_______;

In most children’s imaginations their back gardens are a magical kingdom where they meet all kinds of characters. But the children of a Florida family no longer need to dream, after their back yard was transformed with a Disney makeover worthy of a theme park.

Tommy and Angie Bradburn, who spent many childhood vacations at Disney parks wanted to share their passion with their children.

A Tinkerbell-themed design, complete with an oversized teapot, was installed in the Bradburn’s backyard. Next door, the grandmother’s outdoor space is equipped with an 8-foot tall sorcerer’s hat.

The show, ‘My Yard Goes Disney’, premieres on HGTV at 8pm on June 6.

Other episodes of the series feature a Pirates of the Caribbean-inspired makeover complete with a pirate ship, water cannons and a water battle station. Makeovers also include a Disney’s Animal Kingdom-themed design with thatched-roof tree houses, a replica of a safari Jeep and a handcrafted fire pit.

AMAZING.

I went with the mid 1860’s for Cinderella’s dress, the transitory period where the cage crinoline takes on a more elliptical shape and moves towards the back. Not that it accounts for Lady Tremaine’s sweet 1890’s getup, but it’s also not unheard of to see it worn alongside Anastasia and Drizella’s early bustle dresses. It’s also worth noting that it was made by a fairy godmother, so it make sense that her tastes would be a little behind the times.

Not to mention background characters, who seem pretty firmly planted in the middle of the century:

I love all of these. And that she’s already lost her shoe!

Mary Blair was well-known in the Disney universe for her concept art. Disney’s 1951 Alice in Wonderland was one of the many Disney works she, well, worked on. Click this link here to see more of her work.
